Join a team in providing relational support for either legal refugees settling into new homes or families transitioning from homelessness into stable housing. Training will be provided. Limited spaces are available at this time.
One team will be working with the United Religious Communities (URC) to welcome and assist refugees who have been approved through the United States immigration system in settling into new homes in South Bend. The URC staff handles finances and details, while the team helps with relational aspects of community like navigating school sign ups, settling into a home, and transportation needs.
The South Bend United Methodist Ministry Collective will be training teams to assist families and individuals transitioning out of homeless assistance programs and into apartments or homes. Training will be provided. Teams will work with families on budgeting, home management, and navigating community support systems.
